Creative Music Strategies Mission Statement:
Our main objective is to provide an enjoyable, creative, and one-of-a-kind music lesson experience. This mission is accomplished by identifying the specific musical interests of each student. Focusing upon a student’s passion is what makes our approach so effective and inspiring.
Many traditional studios dominate lesson plans with scales and utilizing a single method book. The musical adventure at C.M.S. is not exclusively about learning a scale, memorizing a chord, mastering a technical exercise, or simply reviewing the lines and spaces of the treble clef. THAT IS JUST THE BEGINNING!! Frequently instructors “dead end” the learning experience before the fun actually “kicks in!” This is why statistically most students insist upon stopping lessons within that first year! Each instructor follows the Creative Music Strategies’ method of teaching. This process develops a solid musical foundation while simultaneously tapping into the creativity which often is ignored by other music lesson facilities.
There must be a purpose. Each student is encouraged to work towards a concert focused goal and feel the sense of accomplishment. Instead of relying upon tedious old school tactics and ho-hum rewards to get results, we use the power of live performance as a positive form of leverage. Our staff thrives upon inspiring each student to work hard towards achieving awesome results on a consistent basis. The CMS Concert Series offers students the opportunity to proudly display their hard work and dedication. This concept of holding each student accountable via live performance is significant.
Parents and adults so often express regrets: “I wish I had kept up the lessons when I was younger. I simply hated them!” The truth is obvious.....most students quit because they are NOT ENJOYING THE PROCESS. Students need choices. They need to play songs that they love. They need an exciting live concert experience on their horizon to achieve notable improvement. This combination of dedicated instructors, an individualized teaching approach, and the rewards of a live performance result in extraordinary levels of musicianship, assuming the student is ready to take on the challenge.
