A rapidly-growing Manhattan-based media company seeks an intern to produce editorially directed content for We All Make Music, a website dedicated to covering musicianship and changes in the music business.
Under the direction of the site\'s editor, the intern will produce insightful, informative blog posts, conduct and transcribe interviews, and assist in the site\'s ongoing outreach, traffic driving and social media campaigns. All of the site\'s content is intended to help musicians, business professionals, and amateurs alike thrive in a post-label world.
Skills:
This internship requires a commitment of three days per week. A daily stipend of $25 will be provided.
Intern Responsibilities include:
* Writing at least three blog posts per day
* Conducting outreach to major media websites and potential content partners
* Scheduling, conducting, and transcribing interviews
* Assisting in ongoing research on current and upcoming blog topics
* Maintaining and expanding the site\'s social media presence and profile
* Participating/assisting in other music site pursuits - video production, researching guests, booking, transporting gear to shoots, going through footage, etc
Requirements:
* Superior writing ability and an ability to produce content quickly; all candidates will be required to complete a timed writing test
* Deep knowledge in at least one of the three following areas: recording equipment/techniques and/or musical instruments; music industry experience; music marketing/publicity
* Understanding of SEO optimized blog content and how to write “web-friendly” content
* Proficiency in Internet research
* Familiarity with social media platforms (FB, Twitter, etc)
* Ability to work independently
