The Music Program Director is responsible for the overall leadership, development, design, and implementation of the music ministry related to worship and other activities in the life of the church.
Main focus of Responsibilities
• To provide musical and spiritual leadership developing the instrumental and vocal elements of worship services
• To recruit, train, and schedule instrumentalists and vocalists for worship services, and scheduling lay leaders for worship assignments
• To lead/oversee rehearsals for music team, including instrumentalists and vocalists
• Participate in regular worship team planning meetings, and provide decision making in selection of music and other media
• Plan weekly rehearsals and service orders in collaboration with the Senior Pastor and Worship Coordinator
• Participate in composing and arranging of the elements of the worship services in a way that is thematically integrated contributing to other elements of the services
• Perform administrative duties such as; securing proper copyright clearance for music presentation; administer musical elements of the service (e.g. communication with personnel, music procurement, duplication and distribution, room reservation and set-up, media creation and procurement)
• Exemplify a standard of excellence in music presentation and spiritual commitment to all participants

Abilities/Skill set
• Evidence of spiritual giftedness in music and leadership with experience in directing or programming
• Plan and develop worship service in collaborative context with lay leaders and the music ministry team
• Work well with others in leadership, staff and clergy to collaborate on other aspects of the service as needed.
• Be committed to inclusiveness of musical content using varying styles, and genres of music which would appeal to a wide demographic of ages, race, sexuality, and spiritual backgrounds.
• Be able to utilize multimedia capabilities, and other technology to provide a well rounded worship experience.
• Be able to develop and lead the music ministry team, choirs, or other worship teams for use outside of Sunday worship services
• Recruit and train musicians to be involved in different aspects of the music ministry
